Condolences

  • I'm so sorry to hear this. Nancy loved her family, deeply. She loved telling me about the get togethers up north at her daughter's home. I developed a friendship with her while taking care of her, years ago. I'm so glad I got to spend time with her a few months ago. God bless. Hillery Weiler

  • Hello my friend. I will always remember how you would light up a room. If you were the only one in the lobby there would soon be 10 others. You were also straightforward. We always knew where we stood with you and loved your zeal for life. I will always see you with your walker on determined strolls around the building. If you could get better for love of family, you would do so . We love you Nancy Taylor. I am thankful I got to say good-bye to you last Wednesday. Until next time. Rest in peace , prayer angel. Love, Alberta. We love you Nancy
  • A letter to mom: Dear mom, The things I remember about you are not all pleasant but I will focus only on the pleasant. Very early in my life before you and dad separated I remember snuggling with you and dad on a cold morning and never wanting it to end. Of course it did. And then I lived with dad and Marcie and another whole family but always looked forward to weekends at moms and Jennings’ house. For that’s where fun was! Winter ice skating and a trip to Niagara Falls by train. Maybe that’s where my love of winter comes from. And my love for watching the Winter Olympics figure skating. I also looked forward to going out to eat when going out to eat was a big deal. You and Jennings loved Mexican village when it was 1 of only 2 Mexican restaurants around. Armando’s was the other one. Speaking of food of course that was a big deal feeding 8 to 12 people breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. You were a good cook too. We still all talk about your neck bones and hominy, Mexican rice, beef stew with biscuits, biscuits and gravy, and more. And you passed that talent on to each of your kids. I remember your Saturday shopping trips. That car was loaded with food that we had to help unload and put away. Sterling State Park will forever be a fond memory. Swimming, boating, skiing, beach combing, swinging and sliding and of course grilling. Back when you had to make sure we had plenty of charcoal and fluid. I will never forget the smell of breakfasts cooking in that black iron skillet over the charcoal grill on Lake Erie beach. My work ethic comes from you - when you worked at Pesche’s meat packing. You taught me that you had to work for a living. And that work was hard but you did it. Even after you left Pesche’s you and Jennings made a living with your business - Nancy’s Ceramics. Where you sold everything from ceramics to fishing equipment to socks. Weekends at Gibraltar trade center and then shipsawana during the week. I think everyone of your kids and some your grandkids worked it. I remember the moose lodge dinner & dance parties, the card game get togethers on Crawford St with grandma and friends, and Christmas parties, the trips to Kentucky. When I focus on the positive I can remember so many fun times! Remember singing “Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble when you’re perfect in every way?” You and I used to sing that a lot. And now you are perfect next to Jesus in heaven! Love you always mom❤️ Kelly Kelly
